About

Abhivardhan is a distinguished Technology Law and AI Governance Specialist, recognised for his contributions to global policy forums such as G20 Brazil’s Startup20 2024 and representations in key engagements led by the South Asian University, the Observer Research Foundation and the Commonwealth Legal Education Association. He serves as the Chairperson & Managing Trustee of the Indian Society of Artificial Intelligence and Law and leads as Managing Partner at Indic Pacific Legal Research, where he focuses on interdisciplinary legal research in technology and geopolitics.


His expertise spans Artificial Intelligence Governance, International Space Law, Digital Competition Law, and Indo-Pacific Studies, dedicated to shaping ethical frameworks for emerging technologies. Abhivardhan authored Artificial Intelligence Ethics and International Law: An Introduction (2nd ed., 2024), a pioneering work exploring the intersection of AI ethics and global legal systems, and drafted AIACT.IN—India’s first privately proposed AI regulation, now in its fourth iteration.


Emphasizing the need for culturally rooted approaches to technology governance, Abhivardhan advocates for Indic & Indo-Pacific Perspectives on AI Policy, aiming to integrate diverse philosophical and legal traditions into global discourse. His work bridges technical innovation with policy design, addressing challenges in digital sovereignty, intellectual property, and space law.
