Problem Statement

    Unvalidated deployment of AI models outside their demonstrated technical capabilities, lack of human fallback loops at critical decision steps, and superficial community integration inside social welfare operations.

*India's IT Minister once said there are 5 layers of AI (there could be more or less). Hence it becomes necessary to define which specific AI layer was targeted in our policy recommendation for this problem statement.​

    Structural deployment of accessible human-override toggles, continuous post-deployment monitoring alerts for performance degradation, and clear notification logs embedded directly into social sector applications.

Here's what we Recommend.

    Require verified performance data from Indian population contexts prior to authorization, and design all early-stage pilots to fail safely at small scale. Incorporate grassroots community input as a substantive technical requirement in the design phase rather than treating it as a procedural formality alongside administrative review.

Possible Mandate Recommended for the Uttar Pradesh State Government

    The state must adopt the Sonbhadra AI Principles as binding procurement and operational conditions on all government-deployed AI, ensuring human override remains fully preserved and accessible at every critical decision point.
